about the job
The School for Moral Ambition attracts and mobilizes the most ambitious people to address the world’s most pressing challenges. We need our brightest minds to make pandemics history, end factory farming, fight the tobacco industry, safeguard our democracies — and these are just a few examples.
Our work is guided by our founding principles. Please read them to learn more.
about the role
Our global community is growing fast: more than 20,000 members from 140+ countries have already joined us, with about 300 new people every week. What unites us is a shared drive to solve the world’s biggest problems faster — by helping each person contribute from their unique position of strength.
As a Global Community Engager, you’ll be part of our new Welcome Team. You’ll be the first person new members have contact with. You provide them with resources, answer their questions, and connect them to other members and impactful opportunities.
We’re recruiting three to five Engagers from four different countries. You’ll receive a digital onboarding, connect as a global team, and learn how to effectively engage new members across cultures and time zones.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome new members through short online 1-on-1 conversations.
- Moderate the platform by responding to posts and connecting members with shared goals.
- Identify needs and opportunities that can inform how we improve the community experience.
- Connect people who can help each other move forward within The School for Moral Ambition and beyond.
- Host welcome hours on the platform. These are 1 hour welcome hours for new members.
What We’re looking for
- Strong alignment with our Founding Principles
- Genuine curiosity about people and ideas
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Fluent English and preference for at least one other language spoken fluently
- High intercultural sensitivity
- A relevant network in the impact or effective altruism space (bonus!)
- Commitment of 4 hours/week throughout 2026 (with space for holidays, of course!)
- Experience in the Moral Ambition Community is a big preference
We especially welcome applicants from outside the Netherlands, to bring new cultural perspectives and global time-zone coverage.
What we offer
- A chance to help people across the world act on their moral ambition
- Being part of a small, international team of five Global Community Engagers with bi-weekly team sessions
- A friendly and supportive Slack space to exchange ideas, wins, and GIFs
- A stipend of €200/month
