Volunteer role

We believe the world’s most ambitious people should tackle humanity’s most critical challenges — making pandemics history, ending factory farming, fighting Big Tobacco, safeguarding democracies, and more. Moral ambition means measuring success by the impact you make.

Circles turn that belief into action. In just one year, 235 Circles united 1,000+ participants. Alumni have changed laws, founded charities, and shifted careers to improve the lives of many.

about the role

As a Circle Starter, you assemble 5-8 peers and guide them through a nine‑session, peer‑led journey that helps participants:

  1. Connect & Reflect: Explore what moral ambition means for each member.
  2. Define their path: Capture bold visions and map the routes to get there.
  3. Conquer roadblocks: Surface obstacles and co‑create practical solutions.
  4. Put it into practice: Leave every participant equipped with tools, accountability, and a supportive network.

You ignite the first session and keep momentum high. Prefer to grow alongside your peers? Hand facilitation to another member after each session and dive into the program yourself — the choice is yours.

Key responsibilities

  • Recruit and invite a values‑aligned group of 5-8 people
  • Host the kick-off meeting (virtual or in‑person)
  • Foster a supportive, action‑oriented environment across all sessions.
  • Coordinate simple logistics and share session materials (we provide everything)

What We’re looking for

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • feel fired up by the idea of moral ambition — using talent, time, and resources for maximum good
  • align with our founding principles
  • bring a proactive, welcoming energy that helps peers dream big and stay accountable

What we offer

  • A 3‑hour live training to set you up for success.
  • Access to the Circle Pioneers Club — a global network of fellow Starters for real‑time advice.
  • A step‑by‑step Circle playbook, session slides, and bite‑sized assignments.
  • Invitations to Moral Ambition events for Circle Starters only.

Application process

  1. Create an account on our community platform.
  2. Join one of the onboarding sessions.
  3. Explore the materials and facilitator manual at your own pace.
  4. Apply for a Circle Starter Training to meet other starters and get support.
  5. Publish your Circle on the platform and invite members to join.
