about the job
Our Moral Ambition Fellowships offer a transformative journey — one that demands your full commitment as you pivot your career alongside a cohort of ambitious peers.
After a successful edition of the Food Transition Fellowship in Europe last year, we’re thrilled to open applications for a new round of this program.
The 2025 edition will kick off with a full-time, one-month intensive training program in September. You'll dive deep into systems thinking, policy impact, stakeholder mapping, and the key leverage points in transforming Europe’s food system. You’ll also meet a diverse group of guest speakers from across the food, policy, and advocacy landscape. Prior to this, you’ll receive preparatory assignments to ensure everyone starts with a strong foundation.
From October 2025 to March 2026, fellows will be embedded in impactful host organizations across Europe — ranging from policy think tanks to advocacy groups and international NGOs — working on high-stakes projects that advance the transition to a more sustainable, plant-rich, and fair food system.
Throughout the program, you’ll receive a full-time gross salary of €3.800 per month and be formally employed under a local contract through The School for Moral Ambition or one of our fiscal partners. The host organizations are primarily operating in Brussels. Applicants must be EU/EEA citizens or permanent residents.

about the role
Our global food system is at a breaking point. Over 80% of agricultural land is dedicated to livestock or the crops that feed them, while just 16% is used to grow food for direct human consumption. Meanwhile, nearly one in ten people worldwide are undernourished, and animal agriculture emits more greenhouse gases than the entire transportation sector.
This system is unsustainable — for people, animals, and the planet.
Currently, we have the opportunity to ignite the next revolution in food production — not in crops, but in the protein-rich foods we have typically sourced from animal products. And for a number of reasons, this might just be one of the most powerful levers we have to improve the world today.
The Food Transition Fellowship identifies exceptionally talented individuals with transferable skills — whether from agriculture, law, communications, consulting, finance, policy, or advocacy — and equips them to become key drivers of food system reform.
